A MEMORIAL FOR OUR DEAR BROTHER IN CHRIST

“Mark was a light to my soul. A dear and gentle man whose personal and very grave sufferings were ever offered to God, always for the relief of the sufferings of others, for our world and for the Salvation of souls. I both admired, respected and loved him. A man of true Faith and an exemplary Catholic who opened his heart to everyone! May God grant him Peace and Eternal Rest and may he watch over us all…AMEN”.

THERESA (Hermit of The Holy Cross)

“God brought Bro. Mark into my life just when I needed him.  Due to my disability, I was homebound and had lost my spiritual community. I found Bro. Mark.  He had faithfully put notices in the bulletin of my parish.  He was reaching out and I was found.  I am blessed to have been invited to join our dear Hermits.  Bro. Mark was my community when I had none.  Now that he has gone home to our Heavenly Father,  I know that his spirit stays with all of us Hermits.  Bro. Mark’s gentle kindness is  a model I would like to emulate.  Although his physical presence is missed I know his spirit  is here by my side as I write this. “

Love, Steph

“I first met Mark, figuratively, when Stephanie joined the hermits and told me about him. I read some of his blogs and finally saw the video made about his life with Proteus. I never met him until the Wednesday rosary, and he has blessed my sister’s life and mine because of her. Saintly men are rare and I feel privileged to have  known him even for a short time.”

REFLECTIONS ON THE HIDDEN LIFE OF OUR FRIEND AND FELLOW HERMIT CHARLES

What I remember was his sense of humor.  We could always count on a laugh after reading his Monday posts.  Rest in peace brother.

Steph

What I remember most about Charles was his making of those beautiful wooden rosaries for all of us, by hand, as his way of glorifying God by honoring His holy mother Mary for whom he had a special devotion. Rest in peace dear brother Charles!

Theresa

What I remember of Charles was his simplicity with life and his patience with the bus that was always late when picking him up for Mass. Often times they’d be so late they made him miss Mass. But he just offered it all up. He tried his best and he knew God understood . RIP dear Brother!
