Contemplative Confidence

Looking for the contemplative confidence within yourself is a gift given to every Christian. It is we who have the freedom to embrace it or to reject it. When we give ourselves to accepting this gift of confidence we find the values that are within Christ Jesus are then now stamped within our hearts. These values: compassion for others, respect for another’s way of life, forgiveness for the wrong’s that others may have done to us, are the parts of the foundation that guide us through our lives. These grow by grace, by the Eucharist and by prayer. When we take these values into ourselves the transformation into Christ begins.

The Hermits of the Holy Cross is a Contemplative Association for those who are permanently physically disabled and have become “home bound” to their local Church and are in need of continuous medical care. The Association of the Hermits of the Holy Cross is set-up in such a way that those who are ill and physically disabled can live out their monastic spirituality from their own home. We assist the Church and the world through our life of prayer and freely offering up our sufferings that stem from our disabilities. For the Hermits, our hermitage is within our heart and the Cross of Christ is life for us and for our world.
